Instructor: Frank McLaughlin Elective CE: 2 hours This course will examine the key components of a successful settlement and review the role and responsibilities of the title company. Agents will understand the documents that should be sent as part of any settlement to the title company and suggestions will be given for keeping the lines of communication open. Agents will be educated on the importance of having a current survey completed, the process of the title exam and how title defects are remedied. Special attention will be given to the different types of title insurance and what is and is not covered by title insurance. The actual settlement process will be reviewed. Finally, extensive time will be devoted to how to prevent walk through problems and how to resolve those problems when they do arise. |
